
Hi blog world! Things have been hectic lately, so here's an update on some other changes happening in mine and Adam's life. I am not a runner... I do not like running, I will think of any excuse not to run and I think there are a thousand other ways to do cardio besides run.
Well. With that being said, Adam and I are training to run a race! We are starting slow and will be doing a 5K. I haven't decided which race we will be doing yet, but there are dozens of them coming up in the fall so I will choose one soon. I found a program online called the 'Couch to 5K' training plan and the idea is to be able to take anyone, even the biggest couch potato, and turn them into someone who can successfully run a 5K. Now we aren't exactly couch potato's but we are NOT runners by any means so I thought we would start out slow.
In all honesty, we could probably just go out there and run a 5K right now but it wouldn't be something that I enjoy. I want to learn to enjoy the process of running as well as feel that sense of accomplishment every time I push myself to run a bit further or get better times than my last. So far we are in week 2 of the 8 week training program and I really am enjoying it and looking forward to our runs!
Another huge inspiration for this is my daddy. :) He is turning 52 soon and just completed his first half marathon a few weeks ago.... If he can do that then I can run a 5K!
